Increasing The Number Of Resumes That Get Past The ATS

What are you doing to increase the number of your resumes that get past?Applicant?Tracking Systems?

If your resume isn't getting through ATSs (employer resume screening databases) often enough, it's a good idea to examine what you're doing differently to get your resume past Applicant Tracking Systems.

Here are common strategies most job seekers use to try?and?get past ATSs:

• Apply To More Jobs:?While this is the most common strategy used, it almost always slows down your search. Do you really think you'll change your results by doing more of the same thing that hasn't been working?
• Using JobScan:?The problem with JobScan is what you put into it - the job description. Job descriptions are almost always at least a year old, written during the budget cycle (when the headcount was approved), generic/standardized or recycled from a departed employee. Since an employers' needs change constantly, so job descriptions can't reflect current needs, nor do they give you an advantage over other candidates.
• Applying Through Career Pages:?Resumes from job descriptions, job boards and LinkedIn all are automatically input and pre-screened by ATSs - It's pretty much the point of why employers use ATSs.
• Trying To Go Through HR:?Company recruiters might talk to you, but it's their job to submit candidate resumes into the Applicant Tracking System.
