This website is a gold mind for small business owners and for networking groups. A lot of the groups are FREE and pertain to a hobby such as running, arts and crafts, golf etc. There are also a ton for people who are looking for the sole purpose of networking. Just by going to these events you can increase your exposure with experience professionals and find more opportunities.

Check out all of the upcoming events in your area. This is a GREAT place to meet individuals as most are 1st year and 2nd year professionals who can give you insight to what it is like to work for their company and ASK them for a reference or what they would do today if they were trying to get hired at their current employer. I have met plenty of people who landed a job from their first visit and came back to share how much they loved this event.

Sound ridiculous? There are 100's if not 1000's of groups on here for people looking for new talent. The problem is, a lot of people treat their Facebook like they are back in high school or middle school. If you don't think your Facebook is being screened prior to employment you're wrong. All of the pictures of you partying may actually be hurting your chances of a job versus someone who doesn't post them so everyone can see them.
