I would guess it's probably even more than that.

It's such a massive untapped opportunity for so many companies.

This is the number one reason why you should encourage and empower your employees to be active on social media.

Social media is where people spend time building networks and communities.

This is where you influence people.

And your job is to capture their attention.

A slightly overused sentence, but oh so true:

People follow people and people buy from people they trust.

And trust is built through communication.

Join that conversation today.

And spend time where that conversation takes place.

In 2023 a company needs to build audience and communicate with that audience in order to build trust.

People want authenticity. People want community.

The best way to achieve that is through your employees.

This is a win-win.

For your employees.

For your customers.

For the company's marketing.

For the organic growth and reach.

For the company's revenue.

A good question to ask yourself: If your own employees aren't excited about the company's marketing, then why should your audience be?

Start with your people.

Grow with your people.

Getting your people excited and involved is by far the lowest hanging fruit for startups today.

Grow with your people

People want authentic dialogues with companies, brands and employers today.

So start building for this.

Invest in your employees.

Empower them.

Invite them to participate in the marketing.

Build community and start talking with your audience.

And you'll see your online audience and engagement with your brand skyrocket ??

??Encourage your team to contribute

Be transparent with your team on how marketing is going, ask for their ideas on stuff you can do together online to create a buzz.

Share with them that everyone's contribution matters.

There is no better way to grow an audience than to start with your employees and get them excited to contribute.

??Encourage your people to build a personal brand

Let your team know that you encourage them to be active on social media and build their personal brand.

Show them by doing it yourself.

Some people want to get started but don't know where to start.

Invite someone that can teach the team how to get started - do it together and make it fun!

??Share recognition with the team members that build online

If you have people on your team that share content regularly on LinkedIn, they are probably driving a lot of traffic to the company.

Give recognition to them publicly.

That will make those team members feel seen and appreciated, and it will encourage the rest of the team to get started as well.

??Provide them with material

Creating content doesn't come natural to everyone.

Some team members won't do it.

That's totally fine.

An employer can of course not force their employees to be active on social media.

It's up to them.

Their LinkedIn profile belongs to them.

Not the company.

With that said, it's a great idea to share material with the team once a week.

Stuff they can share online if they want to.

Stuff they can use as inspiration or just re-share as is.

This will help people to get started.

Even if the they don't share stuff about the company, they are still driving a lot of traffic and building awareness for the company by being active on social media.

Encouraging your employees to be active on social media is a win-win.
