Increase In Hourly Wages in Canada

Average hourly wages in #Canada on the rise for both salaried & hourly employees

StatsCan has released new data revealing that the average hourly wages for both salaried and hourly employees in Canada increased in February 2023. On a monthly basis, salaried employees across the country experienced a rise in their wages from $42.37 to $42.58, while hourly employees saw their average wage increase from $29.25 to $29.44.

Note: Both average hourly wage increases encompass overtime hours.

The upward trend in wage growth persists in both cases. Salaried employees in Canada have experienced a rise in their hourly wages for six consecutive months, while hourly-paid workers have seen their wages increase for eight consecutive months.

The data incorporated through StatsCan comprises information on the average hourly wage by province/territory and industry, and this is what is given below.

Average hourly wages for salaried employees are categorized by province/territory.

The table presents data on the average hourly wages of salaried employees in each province during the period from December 2022 to February 2023, showing the changes that occurred over that time frame.
