1. Measure every gram of your body with the DEXA Scan
A few weeks ago I got my regular DEXA Scan.
So, what's a?DEXA Scan?
Dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry, or?DEXA?is a?non-invasive test that I use to measure my body composition.
To be more precise: my?body fat, lean muscle, and bone density?in the entire body. (You can see what I'm made of, literally, in this photo).
Unlike calipers or even the traditional weight scale, DEXA measures every square inch of your body, rather than only taking samples or using formulas.
Every scan takes about 10 minutes and it costs around $80 (depending on the provider). That's the reason I get me scanned every 3-6 months.
If you're trying to lower your body weight, or in my case, increase it, this is a fascinating and accesible technology I would encourage you to try.

3. Increase Fat to Reduce Fat
Three?months ago I started with an?experiment:?reducing the amount of carbohydrates?that I consumed?(bread, flour, sugar, etc.), and?increasing healthy fats?(avocado, olive oil, etc.)
A paired this up?with my routinely gym workouts. But I never imagined that what was going to happen is that my?body fat decreased by around 3?lbs (1.3 Kg)!
What's even more surprising is that my?lean muscle increased almost 3 lbs, too! (how do I know? …I got me a DEXA Scan! ??)
And this is not only about physical appearance.
Switching to?healthy fats?provides a?different type of energy?to my body.
It might not be a recommended nutritional protocol for everybody, but what about giving it a try for 2 weeks?
