As we celebrate Pride Month and honor the vibrant and diverse LGBTQ+ community, it is important to also reflect on the tragedy that occurred eight years ago today at Pulse Nightclub here in Orlando, Florida.

Forty-nine people needlessly lost their lives because of hate. This devastating event reminds us of the ongoing struggle for equality, acceptance, and safety for the LGBTQ+ community.

While Pride Month is a time of celebration and joy, it is also a time of remembrance and resolve. We honor those lost by continuing to advocate for love, inclusivity, and understanding.
