Via conversations I've had over this past month, the chapter (see link below) I wrote back in 2006 for Risk Management: A Modern Perspective, edited by Michael Ong, has come back to mind.
The stories of Wells Fargo and others continue and a good deal of that may have to do with insufficient focus on the psychology behind how incentives drive behavior. While this chapter is more than a decade old, it still seems relevant.
I welcome comments on it as we focus on how to best govern this important area of organizational behavior.
