The Inaugural RunThrough Women's 5 and 10k, powered by StoneX, Shines at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park: A Celebration of Women’s Running

London, UK: RunThrough, the UK’s largest and Europe’s fastest growing running events company, is pleased to announce that on Wednesday, June 26th, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park was alive with energy and excitement as hundreds of women gathered to participate in the RunThrough Women’s 5 and 10k, powered by StoneX. The evening was a resounding success, with an impressive turnout, particularly from the SheRuns community, who brought an inspiring level of enthusiasm and camaraderie to the event.

Participants enjoyed a scenic run through the iconic Olympic Park, embracing the spirit of empowerment and community. The event celebrated not only fitness but also the strength and solidarity among women runners of all ages and abilities.

Lucy Harfield, RunThrough’s Head of Brand and Community, rounded off the event with an inspiring talk, stating, “Running is about doing something for you and who you are, if you put one put in front of the other just that little bit faster than walking, you are what I call a runner.” She continued, “I know there will be a lot of men that are annoyed that they weren’t running tonight, and that we made this event women’s only, but that is not the point. The point is that running is for everybody and there are far too many barriers right now stopping us women from getting on that platform and coming out and doing things for ourselves.”?

Deirdre O’Neill, co-founder of Hertility, also addressed the crowd, emphasising the importance of women’s health and the role of fitness in maintaining overall well-being, noting, “Hertility is in essence a revolutionary approach to precise medicine. We created Hertility to be a diagnostic companion, and a reproductive companion for women from menstruation all the way through to menopause.”?

Abbey Perkins, Chief Information Officer at StoneX commented, “StoneX has a commitment to health, wellness and women’s empowerment. Sports and events like this, focused on women as a community, really convey that and allow for an element of collaboration and congeniality you really can’t replicate anywhere else. The opportunity to sponsor here, and showcase how much we care about these topics has been really terrific to get.” She continued, “I think sports are a real equaliser. They invite all types, they reward all types. Allowing you to really excel and feel terrific, I love events like this on the whole.”

The RunThrough Women’s 5 and 10k, powered by StoneX at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park was more than just a race; it was a celebration of women’s strength, resilience, and the supportive communities that empower them.
