Is it too early for peak season prep? Not quite!

We know it's only spring, and it feels strange to be thinking about peak season already. But if you want to avoid headaches down the road, now is the perfect time to start prepping. So, what should you focus on? Here are four things worth considering:

  1. Inventory management: Start investigating demand, exploring sourcing, and optimizing fulfillment workflows now. Your future self will thank you.
  2. Discount decisions: Finding the right balance between pleasing your customers and protecting your profits is essential. So, start the process early and get it right.
  3. Technology upgrades: Since last peak season, there have been a lot of technological advancements. Are you positioned to make the most of them this year?
  4. Website updates: To avoid the dreaded code freeze squeeze, start making necessary changes to your website now. Trust us; it's better to be safe than sorry.

Intentions matter – especially your customers'!

If you want to tailor your content to meet your customers' needs, wants, and preferences, understanding their intent is key. And with AI, that's now possible. Here's a quick checklist of intent-based strategies you should have on your site:

  1. Personalized product recommendations
  2. Urgency messaging based on price changes and inventory levels
  3. Price anchoring through savings amplifiers and comparative pricing
  4. Upselling and cross-selling
  5. Re-engagement messaging

If you're not already using these strategies, you should be, and we have a ton of content on our blog that shows you how.

Let's get personal!

A highlight of our month was Trey, our Senior Director of Growth and Partnerships, writing a guest blog for us. In case you missed it, we have the TLDR.

Personalization isn't just a buzzword; it's becoming a necessity. Here's what you need it for:

  1. Enhancing the customer experience: Customers expect personalization, and the stats back it up. In fact, 82% of consumers favor individualized messaging – that's 11% higher than the year previous.
  2. Improving your conversion rates: According to a study by McKinsey, retailers can expect a 10-30% revenue lift when they implement personalization strategies.
  3. Giving you an edge over the competition: As e-commerce becomes more competitive, retailers will need to prioritize customer retention to drive revenue. Personalization is an effective way to retain customers – in fact, 66% of consumers say they'll stop using a brand if their experience isn't personalized.
  4. Giving you deeper insights into your data: Personalization can provide you with valuable business insights from your data. Currently, 37% of online brands aren't capturing any data when a user first visits their site – don't be one of them.
