Here is a list of questions that employers in the United States are generally prohibited from asking job candidates to avoid discrimination, and to ensure compliance with federal and/or state employment laws:
·????? What is your race or ethnicity?
·????? What is your religion or which church do you attend?
·????? Do you have children, or do you plan to have children?
·????? What is your sexual orientation?
·????? Who do you live with?
·????? What country are you originally from?
·????? Are you a member of a specific political party?
·????? Have you ever filed for workers compensation?
·????? What is your disability status or are you disabled?
·????? Are you pregnant, or do you plan to become pregnant?
·????? Have you experienced any medical conditions in the past?
·????? What is your financial status, such as credit score or bankruptcy history?
Employers need to focus on the job candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience which are relevant to the job --- rather than on the candidate’s personal characteristics.
