"Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage."
Thanks for reading. This is the 67th edition.
How can we get the courage and confidence of a great leader? How can we become great and elite at anything?
Well, the recipe to that contains multiple ingredients but the one that is always underlined and highlighted? Just doing the damn thing.
Taking action is probably what's keeping your dreams from becoming things. I'm definitely one that can suffer from too much research. Too much reading. Too much planning.
And all those things are needed; however, you can become stuck thinking you're not ready while putting off the most important aspect of it all - doing it.
Sometimes the more you prepare or the more you think you need to "get ready" for the task puts you further away from it. Psychologically, you trick yourself and tell yourself that you need just a little more time and it's subconsciously working against you.
The people who get things done in this world are busy figuring it out as they go. The "go getters" are the people who just get going. The ones that just go up there and get it. They get their confidence and courage from the faith of their action.
The more inaction you suffer from, the more your expectations lower. The perception of your potential lowers. The feelings of doubt and uncertainty become greater.
The more you wish you had, the less the reality of you getting it creeps in.
And that second thought you're having about the action to take? It's a second thought for a reason. Go back to the first one, because you're capable of much more than you think you're capable of.
