Inability to Delegate, is the biggest problem? Here are the answers..

WHAT SHOULD I DELEGATE?After accepting the fact that you need help to accomplish all that are placed on your To Do List; the second most common question we hear from business owners isnbsp; What should I delegate?nbsp; This may be a difficult question for you because you’ve been doing the work by yourself for a long time. You may think of one or two items immediately (but the real list is usually much longer, you just dont realize it yet).In todays post, I will talk about a special set of rules - callednbsp;3 Strikes, Youre Outnbsp;- that can help and guide you toward knowing what you should (or shouldnt) delegate.3 StrikesIt works like this. For every task you have to simply ask yourself the three following questions and your answers will collectively determine whether you can delegate the work or not:nbsp;Question 1:nbsp;Is it something that you dont personally have to do that someone else can do or be trained to do for you?Question 2:nbsp;Does the alternate person that could do it for you have an hourly rate less than your hourly earning?Question 3:nbsp;Could you use that spare time on revenue generating activities or to increase your quality of life?If the answer is yes to all three questions, it should be delegated. If the answer is yes to two of the questions, it might be something that you want to think about delegating and revisit later. If the answer is yes to none of or only one of the questions, you might want to keep it for yourself.nbsp;Lets look at a couple of examples.nbsp;Sangeeta runs a gift basket business. She decides that it is time to delegate some of her work and she looks at her list of tasks. The first task she looks at is her data entry and blogging which she spends an hour or two per day doing. She asks herself the 3 questions:Is it something that you dont personally have to do, that someone else can do or be trained to do for you?nbsp;Yes! The work is fairly simple and Sangeetanbsp;can train someone else to do it easily.Does the alternate person that could do it for you have an hourly rate less than your hourly income?nbsp;Yes! A data entry person would have a lower wage thannbsp;Sangeetanbsp;does.Could you use that spare time on revenue generating activities or to increase your quality of life?nbsp;Yes! Sangeeta can spend the time marketing her business and selling to more people.Three strikes, youre out!Sangeeta then looks at a marketing project where she plans to sell gift baskets to corporations and asks herself the same 3 questions:Is it something that you dont personally have to do, that someone else can do or be trained to do for you?nbsp; No. Sangeeta has built up a network of contacts and she will be relying on her personal relationships with them to sell the gift baskets.Does the alternate person that could do it for you have an hourly rate less than your hourly income?nbsp; No. If Sangeeta hired someone to do it, it would take them much longer because they do not have the relationships that Sangeeta has.Could you use that spare time on revenue generating activities or to increase your quality of life?nbsp; No. This is a revenue generating activity.Zero strikes. It stays on Sangeeta’snbsp;task list.See how easy that was?Todays HomeworkLook at your to do list and perform the 3 Strikes, Youre Out rule on each item.RememberMany business owners start off by delegating just a few tasks to their virtual assistant. Sometimes its just a bit of a test to see if they can do the work. More often, though, its simply because the business owners dont realize the extent of the work that can be delegated! Be ready to revisit your task list 1-2 months into your delegating relationship and you just might save yourself even more time and money than you think possible right now!Let’s hit a home run! We want you to win!Your well-wisherTeam
