Imtech Charity Challenge 2023

Imtech Charity Challenge 2023

This year’s Imtech Charity Challenge will see 28 colleagues from across the Imtech Group (Imtech, Inviron, Breathe, Capula and SPIE) take on the Three Peaks Challenge - the highest?mountains in the UK; Ben Nevis in Scotland; Scafell Pike in England and Wales’s?infamous peak, Snowdon – from 14-16 July.

Over the course of two days they’ll trek around 26 miles and?ascend to a total height of almost 3,000m. This is a physical and mental?challenge and the team will need plenty of support, grit and willpower to complete it.

All of the team are dedicated to completing the challenge?and determined to raise as much as possible for our charity partner, Mind and its' sister charity, SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health). These charities are close to all of our hearts.

Ian Marron-My Story

Having received the e-mail about the Imtech three peak challenge, the hairs on my neck immediately stood up. As a schoolboy I was lucky to make the climb up Ben Nevis as part of a skiing trip (with no snow), enjoying the fantastic views it offered and being proud I had climbed so high.

Running/Walking is a great way to forget any troubles, especially in the countryside, when the views can be breath-taking and peaceful. As many of you know, I do participate in running on a regular basis and many have been in the hills and across moors.

To complete this challenge in 24 hours will be one of the hardest things I will have ever done, and I have no illusions of how tough this will be.

As a mental health first aider, I understand that people are not always at their best, and everyone has times when they need to stop and have a rethink. Unfortunately, we lost a colleague from one of our projects, who took his own life and this effected the SPIE workforce on the site at the time, as he was a close member of the team. Since then, I ensure that we as a company, support all of our colleagues with what they are going through to ensure we all go home safe at the end of the working day.

Mind do an excellent job supporting people in this type of situation and I would want to be part of the team raising money to support their excellent work.

If you could please help support our efforts by donating using the link or bar code to ensure we support mind to help support us when we most need them.
