Improving the safety of ambulance staff through better data

Hi Reader,

I find it incredible that it’s necessary to have a campaign that tells the public not to attack emergency responders. I spoke to Adam Hopper from the THE ASSOCIATION OF AMBULANCE CHIEF EXECUTIVES about the Work Without Fear campaign that is focusing on the ‘human beneath the uniform.’

He is using data to understand the problem and what deterrents work to reduce the risks for ambulance workers. As is often the case with this sector, data is the key to successful interventions and you can see that in the latest report from His Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) , where they look at how police forces are working with partners to tackle anti-social behaviour.
