Improving the quality of a patient's life is what it's all about

I’m a Senior System Engineer in West Israel R&D, working on the SmartDose? 10 Platform and leading the technical activities of customer development programs, throughout the development stages and regulatory submissions. 

I joined West 5 years ago as a QA Process Engineer, as part of the SmartDose 3.5 team. I was responsible for development of procedures, validations activities, failure investigations, supplier complaints and so on. This experience made me familiar with the medical device field, drug delivery in particular. I decided to continue my professional growth and development in this life-changing industry.  

As part of my role, I got to interact a great deal with R&D teams. I quickly realized that product development is my passion. Wanting to incorporate what I valued personally as well as my technical skills led me to pursue a role that will ensure more and more patient’s needs are met. I love the fact that we can design a product that will have such a positive impact on a patient’s life. 

I got the opportunity to technically lead the SmartDose 10 platform program and officially joined the R&D team. It's an On-Body Delivery System, customized to deliver drug products to the subcutaneous tissue, at different rates, based on customer needs. I am responsible for creating system related documentation, managing design related risk assessment, interfacing with customers and supporting technical documentation for regulatory submissions.  

I could never have achieved what I have at West without the extensive support and trust I received from the management. Specifically, my manager today, Reut Atarot, who has been an inspirational mentor over the years. 

My journey at West led me to believe in myself. I’ve learned that I can overcome any challenge and contribute to my team’s goals and achievements. People are eager to consult and support to achieve a common goal. You can always speak up and be sure the leaders are receptive to all kinds of ideas, opinions, or feedback. This teamwork happens around the world, and is one of West’s greatest strengths.
