In present scenario not many companies focus on the brand managers training or their development . Many of the mid size or small companies expect the brand management team to train the field staff also . However "training the trainer" is missed in most of them
Sharing some of the points that the brand manager can her/himself use to upgrade their skills
- Read Case Studies from across the industries , they help to update the knowledge and offer new solutions to the problems
- Observe and Learn from other team in your organization , understand how different departments work , what is their role , how they add up to the value chain
- Read –Whatever you can lay your hand on , Discuss the books that you read with your friends
- Think Beyond Pharma – Interact with people from different field and understand how they approach their work
- Question your brand plan and the road for ahead - the more you question your own strategy the more you will grow as a learner and thinker
- Be Strategic not operational - Most of the brand managers daily work goes into coordinating with the field staff over small issues . The real job is to be strategic for your brand and prepare for its growth . The more you become strategic .. the more your thinking power will improve
- Implement the external customer feedback for your brands as their attributes - connect with KOL , their feedback matters . Ask them the right question for your brands and their feedback will help you to improve your brand performance
- Help your team to grow
