Improving application resilience in the cloud

I spend a lot of time talking with customers who are looking to improve the resilience of their applications in the cloud. These conversations tend to become very specific and nuanced depending on where a customer is in their cloud journey, their engineering culture and, most of all, their business objectives. But as varied as those needs can be, almost all of them start by exploring the topics covered in these three whitepapers. I'd recommend them to anyone thinking about what they need to do to make their applications more resilient.

  • An impactful and insightful read for anyone involved in designing resilient architectures, this whitepaper gives insight to how AWS services isolate faults and how to shape your applications?
  • How to handle “gray” errors in a multi-az context?
  • How to think through going multi-region,?or not

These whitepapers won't answer every question, but together, they're a great start. What do you think?
