Most unemployed job seekers do one of two things in your job search ...
Some constantly tweak their resume/job search strategy, without understanding what's working and what's not working - Trying to stumble upon the magic combination of job search advice that will work to land a job. It's sort of like trying to build a "Frankencar" from the parts of a hundred different cars, and hoping it will run.
Others do the same basic things over and over, or only make small changes and hoping you'll get lucky.
But there are a few things you can improve that will get you more interviews (and better quality interviews), help you advance, and land a job more quickly.
Here's one example of something you can improve to beat unemployment and find a job fast:
Employer Research Information: Get better information than publicly available research to gain an advantage over other candidates. Improved information allows you to get ahead of the competition by branding yourself as the solution to a hiring manager's problems in your resume and during interviews. Since most final hiring decisions are subjective and emotional (based on who a hiring manager feels will make the biggest impact on their team/organization), giving the first impression that you understand, have already solved, and anticipated a hiring manager's problems can greatly help you.
Most job seekers rely on publicly available information, which gives you no advantage over other candidates, rarely reflects an individual hiring manager's current needs, branding you as the wrong fit. Job seekers almost always rely on public information like the published job description, company websites/LinkedIn page/financial statements, and Google searches. When you use these resources, you make the same mistakes as others, giving up an opportunity to get ahead of your competition.

Publicly available information is rarely current, including the published job description, company websites or Google. Published job descriptions are usually written by HR departments at least a year before they're advertised - And they are often recycled so they are many years old (Federal government use the same job descriptions for 5 years). Company websites/LinkedIn paged don't describe problems (instead, they describe wins that were already solved - Who needs to hire you to solve a problem that no longer exists?). Google allows employers to bury problems hundreds of pages deep, where customers, vendors, competitors, government, and the public can't find them).
