Impress For Success

Impress For Success

We all know that in any area of life … you only get one chance to make a first impression!

Make it count.

What’s the first impression a client or prospect gets when they arrive at your website?

Do you know what information they’re looking for?

What action do you want them to take?

What information do you want them to see?

If you can answer these questions for each of your target markets, on your home page, then you have a strategy that will connect and engage with those prospects.

If not, you’ve got some decisions to make.

Your website is the hub of your business. It’s a marketing tool that you control. You choose the content, what links to have and where you place everything on the page. You choose … not Facebook, not Instagram, not LinkedIn … you choose!

That’s why it’s important to keep you clients and prospects in mind when you create content, develop your design, layout and the navigation of your website. Sharing quality content, first on your website, before posting it to any social media channel is the best way to ensure exposure and engagement with your targeted markets.

If they arrive at your site and they can’t find the information they’re looking for or you don’t direct them to the next action you want them to take … they bounce.

And that’s not a good thing!

Marketing and the understanding of can be overwhelming to many business owners. Strategy seems abstract as supposed to tactics which is tangible. For that reason many go straight to tactics, website being one of the main tactics. Especially in today's world website is crucial to most business' success. Having a website can be as easy as building one with Wix or as complex as having professional expert build an e-commerce site. Without a strong strategy behind it though, the website will be ineffective, the client experience will be poor, and the conversion and client retention will not be optimal.

Averill Lehan right on with your points. If we don't focus on our clients and prospects they are not going to hang around our website or want to talk to us.

Great post Averill Lehan. We have less and less time to make an impression with our websites. Be intentional and always keep your target in mind with content and navigation.

This is some wonderful advice Averill Lehan! I know that the content would be different if one is working with B2C versus B2B but can we successfully have both types working on the site? I was also curious if you have advice on info on the site as far as too much/too little? At times I have shorter posts with great info to help people but it is not enough for a blog. Due to the censorship on all media, my post info may disappear one day but I would love to control it somewhere useful to people.

This is so important. And our websites should always be a work in progress to keep information fresh and the navigation user-friendly.
