A significant legislative update has been introduced with the publication of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1874 on 9 July 2024.
The new legislation, among other changes, revises the Export Health Certificate for Composite Products (EHC Specimen No. 8350, model “COMP”).
Key amendments include:
These changes mean that all composite products requiring export certification (not shelf stable or shelf stable containing meat product/colostrum) and containing gelatine and collagen derived from ruminant bones will now require certification of these ingredients, as opposed to the current version of the Export Health Certificate, which does not require their certification.
This amendment will have a significant impact on the food industry, necessitating adjustments to compliance and certification processes.
It is important to note that the new legislation contains a derogation, which allows the use of the old version of the EHC until 29th January 2025.
Please stay informed and ensure your compliance with the new requirements to avoid any disruptions in your export activities.
