Important Notice for WordPress Users

Due to the ongoing dispute between Automattic (WordPress.com and WordPress.org) and WP Engine, there have been significant changes to the Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) plugin.

Automattic has taken control of ACF and renamed it to Secure Custom Fields (SCF).

If you update ACF through the WordPress plugin directory, it will be replaced with SCF.

What This Means for You:

  1. If you are a WP Engine, Flywheel or ACF Pro customer, this issue will not affect you.
  2. If you update ACF via the wp-admin dashboard, the plugin will be replaced with SCF. SCF is not the same as ACF, therefore could potentially put your website at risk. It's important to note this will only affect users of the free ACF plugin.

Recommended Action:

If you are using the free version of ACF, we would recommend updating directly from the official ACF website to maintain functionality.

If you need clarification or assistance regarding this issue, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Stay informed and update carefully to ensure your website's continued smooth operation.
