I think we can agree, the world has changed dramatically and so has business. What worked 12 months ago to generate leads and sales is not working as well. This means many savvy business owners are looking for new ways, some even teaming up and selling/promoting each other! Unheard of in the older days (yes I remember my first biz in 2003).
I’ve collaborated in many ways over the years. Some blissfully joyful, some a seriously painful lesson damaging in many ways!
7 Steps to Collaboration Over Competition… apart from when:-
?? You simply, inexplicably don’t like someone, feels wrong and are triggered (not your tribe in this life)
?? You have a few doubts about if they’re genuine and trustworthy (trust your intuition, it’s got your back)
?? They will gain far more temporarily and long term (you will people please, feel used resent them)
?? You’ll end up doing the bulk of the work and for more gain of any nature (being sucked dry of time and kindness sucks)

?? You feel pressured, unheard or overlooked in any way (that is not collaboration and sets the tone for the partnership)
?? You got excited and said yes in the moment and it’s keeping you awake at night (back out whilst you can, short term pain for long term peace I reckon)
?? Consider the impact on your reputation, confidence and business if it all goes tits up (often it does, have a cast iron contract, own the contacts and build a resilient mindset and trusted tribe for support)
So, if any of this has your ‘inner voice of knowing’ thinking I’m talking to you, take a step back and reconsider – not everyone is who they appear to be, the social showreel is often not real. Clever business owners are exactly that in all parts of the journey, especially in the love bombing stage of engagement ??
Learn from my mistakes! Do this 7 point check and if none of this is even a remote concern, go ahead and enjoy collaborating, you found a unicorn who has your back and you’ll enjoy growing together. ??
