Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS) meters will be switched off in June this year (2025), so it’s crucial to understand what is happening and why they are being shut down.
After this date, RTS meters may lose critical functionalities. For example, depending on your meter type, off-peak timing might cease to operate, potentially resulting in the loss of heating and hot water services.
In this short video, Ben Whitelam provides an overview of the key information, including how to check if you have an RTS meter, and the next steps to take before it's too late.
Energy data and metering are becoming increasingly important topics for businesses due to various influencing factors. And energy is a vital overhead that no business can do without.
When looking to reduce your energy costs and consumption, your meter is a crucial piece of technology. But, if you are not familiar with metering, it can be difficult to know where to start - especially with the changes on the horizon that'll soon impact all UK businesses.

Did you know that around five years ago, Europe relied on Russia for approximately 40% of its gas supplies? Fast forward to today, and Russia's contribution has dwindled to less than 5%. This dramatic shift has left a significant gap in Europe's gas supply.
So, who is filling this gas gap – and why is liquefied natural gas (LNG) so important to the UK?
In his new blog, Mo Patel dives into these changes and how they are helping to provide energy security in the UK.
After exploring the effects of rising renewable generation on UK wholesale electricity prices, Mark Ursell and Stephen Evans ? now shift their focus to UK versus Europe – and how renewable generation compares across our neighbouring countries.
So, if you’re not sure why France has consistently lower power prices than the UK – this is worth a watch.
