WiFi internet is something that can be very valuable resource for all of your personnel and business needs. We are living in technological world where you have to transform yourself according to the current technological requirements. Though at first you may not give advantages of WiFi much of a chance, you may be pleasantly surprised at the great advantages that they have to offer. Take a look at what they really are today and the advantages they offer.
Cloud and virtualization
In the WiFi arena, managed service refers to cloud. The biggest benefit of cloud based WiFi is that it is easily deployable. Besides that, cloud makes WiFi cost effective. Wired and wireless network virtualization both have the same structure, the only difference is that wireless virtualization rely on a set of wireless resources. The vendors are really owners of those resources. From the point of view of a customer, it’s a cloud-driven WiFi solution but from the vendor’s point of view, it is virtualization.
Data centers that offer bandwidth to service providers go for virtualization to cut down on operational costs. Virtualization stands for running virtual computers on a physical computer, implying less number of physical computers and reduced expenses on managing facilities.
From the consumer’s point of view, the advantages of cloud-based managed WiFi services are decreased risk of network downtime, flexibility and accommodation of multiple workstations.
New ways of monetization
Earlier there were handful of ways to monetize a wireless network connection. Monetizing a WLAN meant charging customers on the basis of usage. But now, several new monetization models exist alongside the conventional ones. Many vendors are giving the value-added resellers and service providers the opportunity to monetize WLAN. A service provider can monetize its WiFi network in terms of ads. He can connect advertisers to customers by dishing out ad-sponsored data to customers and encouraging advertisers to deliver content to customers that will suit their needs.
Restaurant owners, car service stations and shopping malls can provide WiFi access to their customers. They can not only charge their customers a small amount, but also using cloud-based features from the vendors, track customer behaviors and then sell all those data to marketing agencies.
Hotspot 2.0
When managed service providers deployed Hotspot 2.0 across the public WiFi outlets, their approach was experimental. But a year down the line, they are more than interested in making Hotspot 2.0 as the default standard. The second release of Hotspot 2.0 is expected to foster the innovations, which were started by the first release. Industry experts are of the opinion that Hotspot 2.0 will be widely available on end client devices. After adopting Hotspot 2.0 solution, the business process as a whole will become more streamlined and smooth.
The discussion above not only points at the growing importance of WiFi for businesses, but also at how the WiFi framework is evolving and how different industry segments could benefit from its evolution.

9 年Interesting post, Wifi is a VAS and with effective solution the collected data will be a good marketing tool and indirect source of income... Unfortunately, it is taking time to be implemented in ME although proved success globally. thnx Hamid
