The importance of words
There is one characteristic that we all have in common, which is the need to communicate in order to survive, regardless of the way we choose to do so.
Personally, I opt for words, more written than spoken, but in both cases carefully considered.
And what importance do we give to words? For me, as a writer and teacher, they are what make me complete and help me to convey whatever message is needed.
Whether they are heavier or lighter, metaphorical or literal, the care is always the same.
Knowing what and when to say it can be the difference even between life and death. More important, though, are the words we say to ourselves.
Do they give us confidence or diminish it? Do they satisfy our needs or make anxiety even more latent? All this must be pondered before issuing any thought, whether written or spoken.
My point of view is very simple. Words should be used only and only when necessary, avoiding auditory saturation for the receiver, as well as for the reader in the case of writing.
As a writer, it is sometimes risky to discover the line that separates this border and in my case, also as an avid reader, there are many influences that I receive to understand what works or not, at least from my point of view.
Fortunately not everyone thinks like that, otherwise the world would be very boring.
I hope then, as I mentioned earlier, that this text is not one that causes discomfort but rather that it finds you available and open to the message.
And you, what importance do you give to words?
