When working in recruitment, trust is of the utmost importance. Representing yourself authentically and with a clear values set, will ensure you and your offering stands out from the crowd. Through forming long-term relationships with both clients and candidates alike, you create trust in your personal brand too.
Let’s be honest, the recruitment process isn’t always easy. It’s a delicate dance between needs and wants that requires an honest, trusted and open dialogue.
My late dad always believed in the mantra that "people buy from people”.? Always a loyal Rover-owner in the 70s and 80s, he changed the make of car he purchased because the guy at the car dealership moved to a different car brand and my Dad wanted to buy his next car from “that guy” because he trusted him the most so from that point on we didn't have a Rover anymore….
It’s well-known that in the decision to buy a product or service, most customers value a personal relationship, the trust that has been established when building rapport and the connections formed in the sales process.
At Trapeze HR we’ve built a business that is based on core values of trust, honesty, an ethical approach and being completely true to ourselves and those we work with - in everything we do.? We believe that this works for our client partners and the talent we represent in the work that we do.? We think that the personal brands of Harriet Lavender and Jane Middleton are also pretty relatable and that this helps people understand what we stand for in our work and therefore how we operate as human beings.
Let me break it down for you in a bit more detail:
- Building trust is essential to the success of any business. As recruiters, we strive to provide the highest quality service and build relationships of trust and confidence with our client partners. Every day, I focus on delivering results that exceed expectations and ensuring that every individual I work with is left with a sense of satisfaction from our mutual interactions. At the end of the day, my goal is that every client/job seeker I work with will have a positive experience and will be happy to recommend me to a friend or colleague.
- Personal connections and relationships play a vital role in how you select who you want to work with.? Consumers are more likely to buy from someone they can relate to on a personal level. Sharing your story, values, and experiences can create a sense of connection that resonates with others.
- Authenticity: People are drawn to individuals who are genuine, open and honest. When you showcase your true self, including your strengths and vulnerabilities, you create something far more relatable.
- Focused on their needs/challenges/pain points: When you focus on the needs and preferences of your clients, you show that you value their business and are dedicated to providing them with solutions that meet their requirements.
- Referrals and word of Mouth: 90%+ of our work comes through word of mouth and people talking about the work we've done for them.? When clients and candidates have positive experiences with you, they are more likely to recommend your business to others. A personal recommendation comes from a place of trust and personal experience, making it more compelling/convincing to potential clients.
- Building a Community: We are super proud of the community we’ve established in the last 5 years - it provides us with a platform to connect from, with people who hold shared values and interests who support and help each other.
- Loyalty: Companies that have strong foundations around trust and human relationships are likely to have stronger levels of brand “stickiness”, glue and loyalty.
- Long-term success: While transactional relationships can yield short-term gains, businesses built on trust and personal connections are likely to be structured to attain long-term success. Building a strong reputation takes time, but the lasting relationships you cultivate can lead to sustained growth and stability.
Looking ahead to 2024 - we at Trapeze HR hope to forge strong bonds and partnerships with like-minded businesses and people who will trust us and who share our values - for us that's the recipe for a successful year ahead !

11 个月100% agree with your Dad, Jane. I can forgive most things, but once trust is broken I find that hard to come back from! You instill great trust, from the point of candidates and clients.
