The Importance of Team Culture: GTH Translation's Values in Action

At GTH Translation, we take our values seriously. But more than that, we strive to live out these values every day, both in our work with customers and in our interactions with each other as a team.

These values aren't just some fancy words on a wall (although they do look pretty snazzy). They're the foundation of our team culture and the key to our success.

One of our core values is to be positive about our customers and goals. We believe that a can-do attitude and a willingness to go above and beyond expectations are essential to delivering great results for our customers. We also recognize that mistakes can happen, but we believe in owning up to them and learning from them to improve our performance.

To get a sense of how this value is embodied by our team members, we sat down with Christina Delipaltidou , our Can-Do Attitude Specialist...Oops, we mean Localization Specialist, to hear her take on this value. And what we heard was a refreshing reminder of why we love working with such amazing people.

Christina, how do you approach challenges in your work, and how does a positive attitude help you to overcome them?

Well, first, I pour myself a cup of coffee and take a deep breath! But seriously, I try to approach challenges with a can-do attitude and a focus on finding solutions. I'm always up for a good brainstorming session with the team to come up with creative ideas to tackle any roadblocks we encounter. And a positive attitude helps to keep the energy up and the team motivated.

Can you share a story about a time when you had to go above and beyond to deliver a great result for a customer, and how did your can-do approach play a role?

Ah, yes, the infamous "localization emergency" of 2022! We had a client who needed some urgent localization work done for a product launch, and of course, it was all hands on deck to get it done. I stayed late at the office and even brought in my dog, Simba, to help with morale. My can-do approach definitely played a role in keeping everyone motivated and focused on delivering a high-quality result on time.

What's an example of a mistake you made on a project, and how did you use that experience to improve and grow as a professional?

I once underestimated how long a project would take and ended up working way too many late nights to meet the deadline. I think I lived off of coffee and granola bars for a week straight. But, the silver lining is that I learned the importance of time management and setting realistic expectations. Nowadays, when planning projects, I always make sure to factor in some buffer time for unexpected hiccups.

Finally, how do you see yourself continuing to embody this value in the future?

Well, I plan on sticking around for a while! But in all seriousness, I believe that embodying this value is an ongoing process. I'm always looking for ways to improve and grow personally and professionally. As our team and company continue to evolve, I know there will be new challenges and opportunities to put this value into action. And I'm excited to be a part of it all!

In conclusion, we believe that a positive attitude and a willingness to go above and beyond are essential to delivering great customer results. Sharing stories about late-night localization emergencies to recounting the occasional mistake (we've all been there!), Christina showed us how embracing a positive attitude can help us to push through challenges, grow as professionals, and create real connections with our customers and each other.

Stay tuned for more stories from our team members about how they live out our values!
