IMPORTANCE OF RECORDING WITHIN IPTV SOLUTIONS – EZ TV

Hey community, I’d like to start a discussion about media recording- & library-functionality as part of an IPTV solution!
Most IPTV solutions allowing the user to do personal recordings on their set-top box, software-player or mobile device. This recording functionality has never been built for sharing capabilities, neither annotation possibilities nor legally binding usage or verifiable documentation.
Depending on your use-case, your IPTV solution requires much more than just stream management.
There are fundamental requirements to make an IPTV solution capable of content-storage, -retrieval and -sharing. The challenge to render multiple streams as close to live is a key element of success here. As closer content becomes in real-time available as more value is seen by Video based decision makers. The challenge here is the sheer amount of rendering processes running in parallel and faster than real-time.
Video based decisions require annotation of accurate findings. It all starts with the content and meta-data such as GPS & KLV allowing to sync it with geo-maps. Whether it is an object, a scenery or an element describing the content is of great interest. Since many years this workflow is a manual one involving many human resources, which is costly and time-consuming. Auto-annotation is the key to improve and to make this process efficient. Artificial intelligence becomes part of the workflow and requires in addition to relevant content additional GPU resources to train and to make the algorithm successful.
If you are a user or operator of a control-room, a command-center, an agency, an entertainment arena or a medical center, media-recording, -retrieval and -sharing is now a workflow element of IPTV, we call it EZ TV. ??
There is so much more to discover and to learn – EZ TV stream management and much more! ?????????????????
Best regards, Peter.
