It's no different for sheet metal products - we take quality seriously at every step of the manufacturing process. Sheet metal manufacturing is responsible for making all kinds of stuff we use every day - from home appliance and vehicle components to high-spec hospital equipment and data centres.

Quality Begins with Design?

To ensure the highest quality products leave our warehouse, we have to start with thorough designs. Our engineers follow a comprehensive value analysis and value engineering process. This means we optimise the design, considering materials, features, processes, and resources before we even get to the production stages. Quality design lays the groundwork for the rest of the process meeting our standards.?

We like to stay ahead of the game and to do that, we need the most up to date technologies. At this stage we mean, cutting-edge CAD and CAM software. This technology allows our engineers to develop 3D product models that perfectly fit our customer requirements. Our CAD software is like a magic wand, giving us pinpoint precision and the ability to make quick changes and adjustments when required. Quality checks at this stage helps to limit any potential hiccoughs later, the quality process ensures all of the work completed so far is on point with the specifications and expected level of standards.

Advanced Production Techniques?

Once the design is approved and any prototypes have been signed-off. The next step is to begin manufacturing.?

Thanks to our on-site machinery, including our CNC punch, power press and CNC fibre laser precision is easy. The machines are set running by our expert programmers and machine operators. These technologies are able to understand the technical details of the design phase outcomes and follow the CAD/CAM files like a boss.

CNC Laser: Our Mazak Fibre Laser offers a high-speed solution to customer profiling requirements whilst utilising powerful fibre laser technology, allowing for profiling from 0.5mm to 20mm.??

So, yeah, with laser cutting in our corner, we're streamlining the whole process and making sure we deliver nothing but top-level quality!?

CNC Folding: At EFS we’re well stocked with machinery that is more than adequate for high capacity and varied product developments. Comprising of 4X 120T Amada press brakes along with an HTC auto-tool changing press brake, programmed and operated by skilled CNC operatives with the support of a large tooling library, EFS has the capacity and capability to support a varied range of product. Our 200-ton Power Press is utilised in the cutting and pressing of high-volume productionised metalwork components.

Welding: We have facilities for MIG, TIG, Laser welds and Spot welds in our 60,000 square-foot plant. These areas house everything our skilled metal fabricators could need to successfully complete their job on a variety of materials. EFS has the ability to flex capacity to meet customer demand and a design and fabrication team is in place to support any fixture requirements should additional urgent project be required.?

By having a range of weld applications available, we can always ensure the quality of the product is paramount. Making use of TIG for high-precision and aesthetically pleasing joins, and laser for sterile and more restrictive welds. Having our knowledgeable fabricators on hand to ensure the quality and specifications are met to the highest quality before the products progress to the paint line or assembly.

Powder Coating: The EFS powder coating process is streamlined for an efficient and quality finish every time, featuring our GEMA quick colour-change automated paint plant. The plant uses a unique environmentally friendly single stage pre-treatment process capable of achieving in-excess of 1000 hrs of anti-corrosion resistance. The GEMA plant is supported by an offline paint system allowing us to powder coat products that are too large for the automated lines – ensuring all products are finished to our high standards.
