The importance of practicing UX/UI design: improve skills and create better experiences

Here I present the reasons why I believe that it is always necessary to put the contents into practice, in fact this helped me get a job in the field of ux/ui design and continue growing.

There is no magic formula for this, but a great tip is: "keep moving."

Every day you have to learn, exercise, improve, nobody knows everything, it is impossible. What I can tell you is that if this is what you are passionate about... go for this!


Skill Enhancement: Practicing UX/UI design provides the opportunity to experiment with various design techniques, tools, and methods. With each project, we designers perfect ourselves and also adapt, each project is unique.

Building a portfolio: it is important to start building personal projects or independent work, simply to demonstrate what we know how to do. because? A strong portfolio shows the designer's ability to solve real-world design problems and demonstrates her range of skills, the initiative demonstrates interest.

Problem-solving skills: the practice proposes an expansion in challenges, leaving the comfort zone. Although it may sound strange, problems provide us with real opportunities to develop innovative solutions and learn from successes and failures.

User-centered approach: Designers continually remember the importance of understanding and meeting user needs. This focus on user satisfaction and usability drives the creation of more intuitive and engaging digital experiences.

Staying up to date with trends: The digital design landscape is constantly evolving and new tools, techniques and trends emerge periodically. Practicing UX/UI design keeps designers informed and up-to-date. They learn about the latest design patterns and technological innovations, ensuring their work remains relevant.

Collaboration and communication: key aspects of UX/UI design practice. Designers work with developers, product managers and other stakeholders. The internship helps designers develop their communication skills, allowing them to convey their design ideas effectively and work cohesively with cross-functional teams.

Gain confidence: the more we practice, the more confident we are in our professional value. Trust is essential for presenting and defending design options, as well as handling feedback and criticism. A confident designer is more likely to produce high-quality work.

Feedback and Iteration: Feedback, whether from mentors, peers, or end users, is invaluable for making iterative improvements. It pushes designers to refine their designs and produce more user-friendly solutions.


If you are looking for a job in this area, don't just stick with the concepts that are important, but put them into practice, investigate, re-design, design from scratch. Don't stand still!
