IMPORTANCE OF PHYSICAL FITNESS ON OUR PROFESSIONAL LIFE

IMPORTANCE OF PHYSICAL FITNESS ON OUR PROFESSIONAL LIFE

When I started my Professional Journey of becoming a Chartered Accountant after clearing my Senior Secondary Exams, I was filled with a lot of excitement as to how I would proceed further and how things would move from that point onwards. I wanted to excel in the work that I do and wanted to be the best version of myself.

At the time when I started my CA Articleship, that excitement increased further as I was about to have the first taste of Corporate World and the initial feeling of that Exposure is very thrilling.

But somebody who has ever watched Spiderman would know that with great Powers come great Responsibilities. And those responsibilities really made an impact on me as after two years of my Articleship where I have to mostly sit and work all day long (if you exclude the traveling during Audit Assignments) and in that process, I stored a lot of fat cells in my body.

I ended up becoming fat and the funny thing was that I belong to a typical Indian family where the attraction of your face depends upon its roundness or chubbiness. So by those standards, I was quite attractive or chubby as I should say.

I think you can all imagine the Golu-Molu image of mine.

Well not exactly like this, but you probably get the idea of what I am saying.

I don’t know how many of you have ever experienced your work performance getting affected as a result of your Body Transformation, be it for good or for worse. But in my case, I did felt very tired after coming home from work. I wasn’t able to study properly as I felt low on energy. Even my work performance in the office got affected because of my body.

BUT one day everything changed as I was watching a Virat Kohli Interview where he quotes that "I always aspired to be the Best and to be the best you need to work like the Best and to work like the Best your body must respond the same, therefore you need to put in the work to maintain a healthy body".

And that is where it triggered me and my Fitness Journey started as I myself have always aspired to be the Best Version of myself and that day I realized that I need to maintain a healthy body to achieve my goals.

I joined a gym, started working out, made a Diet plan, stuck to it, and carried on with it.

There were a lot of difficulties initially as the sudden effect of a workout takes a toll on your body. My family has reserved feelings about consuming Whey Protein therefore I had to stick to a Homemade Protein-rich diet. I had to control my cravings for those Dishes that I loved but which I knew would negatively impact my fitness goal.

It felt very hard to put in all that effort yet I was determined to do all the hard work and I put my blood and sweat into it. The Hard Work was bitter but the End Result was so Sweet. I lost 26 kg of body weight in a matter of 6 months.

From a person who weighed 93 Kg to 67 Kg and then again being 76Kg by building up the muscles, the journey was very magnificent.

As a person who has gone through certain body transformations, I must say no matter what industry you belong to Physical Fitness is very important.

When you are fit and energetic your work performance increases, you don’t tire too quickly, your focus and concentration increases, and you feel very happy and satisfactory. There is a saying that a Healthy Mind resides in a Healthy Body.

I am still very far from being the Best Version of myself but now I certainly do know the limits of my body and I am ready to put this to the limits because now I know that “You will never know your limits unless you push yourself to them” because “The only limits that exist are the ones in your own mind”.

I wish all the readers a Healthy & Fit Body and a Life full of Happiness. Cheers!
