The Importance of Personal Information on the CVs and Resumes
IGL Associates being the known leading cv writers in Africa have come across thousands of CVs and Resumes from different experts, editors and writers. Most of the time is the time we miss just a little bit that matters MOST.The PERSONAL INFORMATION
We have come across CV experts who do omit the personal information willingly and terming it as unnecessary. The Personal Information Includes the following important Details
Date Of Birth
Languages
ID Number/Passport
Marital Status
Date of Birth.it shows the age you are currently in.Employers sometimes SPECIFY for example 'A candidate in this position must be 30 years and above'.Your Date of Birth may determine whether you may get the job or NOT.Just dont OMIT Date of Birth.Others say'A Candidate must be 25 years and below. It is as important as your experience.
Languages. This is another Omited information. We keep assuming that employer knows we speak in English,Swahili or French.Let it be known that employers look for the well analyzed languages distinguished by the candidate therefore it is a plus if well highlighted.
ID Number/Passport.Have you ever been in scenario whereby you are in a second interview and your employer calls you for details such as ID Number? Its awkward indeed. These are small details that shouldnt miss in your CV just to ensure you are not giving a hard time your prospective employer who is actually supposed to select you for the Job.Give your Employer all details so that he/she selects you easily.
Last but not least Marital Status. Many are astonished why Marital status is Vital. This is because some jobs require travelling, others require working ODD HOURS of the night and employers value spouses Safety and Welfare of the FAMILY.It should be noted that we are human and we are social in and out of work. Therefore highlighting Marital Status whether Married or Single is absolutely Crucial information for your Employer and also is a benefit to the incoming new employee too.So do not OMIT it.
