A “Maintenance Program” is essential in your trucking company:

1. You stay “Consistent”.
2. Bi-Weekly inspections after every trip saves you lots of money and a peace of mind.
3. Your breakdown’s will happen on occasions but very rare.
4. When the DOT pulls you over and do a level 1 inspection you’ll pass it with a?A++.
5. You nor your driver have to lose money and time.
6. Nobody will get hurt because your equipment is not clapped out.
7. The morale of your drivers will be high meaning good “Driver Retention”.
8. Look at maintenance as it is one of the main “Lifelines” to your company.

So as you can see from, What is said above the reason why it is important to be very “Meticulous” on maintaining your equipment. Because trust me that tow bill, labor and parts hurt those pockets over the road. I’ll go a little more in depth, When you call the shipper and tell them your broke down and you’ll have to find another truck to re-power the load, and now you call the broker to tell him the same thing and he tells you to figure it out because he has no trucks that do power only. What do you do now? When this whole situation could have been avoided if maintenance was handled properly but you told the mechanic forget that for now we will handle it on the next trip. This mentality will cost you a lot of money and time wasted, you may possibly even go out of business.?

So stay on top of your drivers to do thorough “Pre-trip” inspection’s and after being on the road hit the shop up so they can go through it and fix what is needed to be fixed. So you can keep those wheels spinning and earning money like it supposed to. ????
