Ring doorbell history

Originally named 'DoorBot', founder Jamie Siminoff created the device back in 2011 when he failed to hear his doorbell while he was in his garage. After this inconvenient experience, Siminoff researched wireless doorbells for his house. He was surprised to discover that there was no wireless doorbells available on the market, James then began manufacturing his very own doorbell. After the product was made and was being used for their own house. James’s wife expressed that it made her feel much safer, ‘It felt like we have gates at the house now’.

It was then Jamie's objective to create the first ever video wireless doorbell built for the smart phone.
