You need to be experienced to get experience
The quote written above justifies that Internships are important. Doing an Internship provides a student an environment in which he/she will be working in future. When recruitment process is going on the first thing on which HR looks is "Past Experience". So lets talk about importance of Internship.
- Provides the Real life Experience and Exposure
If you are lucky and get Internship at good company then you will be knowing that where do you stand and how do companies work. I would like share about my Winter Internship. When I was selected I was thinking that like my friend I would be sitting in the office and doing some excel work and calling but ITC is totally different. I remember that first week was very difficult for me to cope up. As my specialization is in marketing I was selected in a Marketing and Sales profile. In first week I covered almost 150+ shops. It was difficult but it helped me in learning that this is the reality. Marketing and Sales are tough but i learned how to convince people and how to tackle them if some problem arises.
Develop and build skills.
Learning skills in an internship can help in future employment opportunities and might give you an advantage on your competition in future application processes.
Decide if the right path for you.
Working for a company can give you idea about the company into whether it is the right choice for you or not. It is best to know as early as possible, and an internship can help you do that.
Meet people with similar interests.
Internship can introduce you to other students and recent graduates in your field or who share your interests - and can also tell you about the type of work you will be going to do and can also help in clearing doubts.
Apply knowledge
There’s a big difference between learning about strategies and actually applying them. Internship program for an organization helps students learn how their classroom knowledge is applied to real situations.
Gain work experience.
In fields, no longer can a college graduate land an entry-level job with merely a bachelor’s degree and no work experience. Internship helps students get this real-world experience. Internship programs are a great way to gain experience and get hands on work.
Gain confidence
Internships allow you to test your techniques learned in the classroom before entering the corporate world. It’s an opportunity to apply what you have learned where mistakes are acceptable – this gives you confidence.
