The Importance of good food: A new, fresh look restaurant

At CIM Business Centre, we know that what and how we eat, heavily influences our physical health, mental wellbeing, and the way we learn. Eating a healthy and nutritious diet enhances cognitive skills such as concentration and memory. Therefore, as learning and training is central to everything we do at CIM Business Centre, the nutritional well-being of our guests is paramount. This sees our team of executive chefs constantly striving to optimise the quality of food we serve in our Edinburgh Restaurant; Prioritising seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, cooked fresh into wholesome and nutritious dishes for the betterment of our delegate’s well-being, both mental and physical.

The allotment area is tended to by our team and continues to grow year on year. The summer sees a plethora of juicy tomatoes, crunchy onions, giant lettuces and, as the weather cools down, the pumpkins and marrows begin to bloom. The flourishing herb garden provides plentiful herbs for seasoning, including basil, mint, rosemary and thyme. All the food in our allotment is grown organically and pesticide free, from seed to plate. The spring of 2024 will see the addition of troughs to support the growth of our strawberries, further feeding into our pledge to cook and serve only the freshest, most sustainable and nutritious food in our Edinburgh Restaurant.

All organically grown in the allotment

At the beginning of 2024, a project began to turn our Edinburgh Restaurant into a space that mirrors that ethos, and the results of the refurbishment do just that. Our 200-cover restaurant, with cavernous, glass vaulted ceiling and orangery style windows is now a light and bright space to enjoy a nutritious lunch or hearty dinner, whilst networking with friends, and colleagues. The fresh new floor and dark wood furniture offer a sleek, minimalist feel, whilst living walls scale the sides of the restaurant, a visual reminder of CIM’s sustainability pledge.

High vaulted ceilings and orangery style design

The servery area, once purely functional, now offers our team of chefs the opportunity to showcase their skills, with an open kitchen design allowing guests to interact with chefs and enjoy live cooking demonstrations of the specials on offer each day. Breakfast times see eggs cooked to order, served with just the right amount of hollandaise sauce, whilst guests enjoying lunch pick out their perfect pizza, cooked fresh whilst they wait in traditional pizza ovens.

A wrap around terrace links the space via covered walkways to the Mayflower Lounge, accommodation block and Berkshire Conference Center. The terrace is finished with sets of rattan furniture, perfect for a sunny lunch stop overlooking the Manor Lawns. The versatility of this space is easily visualized; During the summer, wedding parties spill out across the lawns, champagne in hand, clamoring to congratulate the new Mr and Mrs. The Edinburgh Suite doubles as the perfect venue for their Wedding Reception. The room boasts a fully stocked private bar, with ample space for entertainment, DJ, and the all-important dance floor.

The newly renovated Edinburgh Restaurant not only embodies CIM’s sustainability pledge and ethos surrounding food and nutrition, but is a beautiful and versatile function space for catering, celebrating and networking.
