The importance of giving back

The importance of giving back

As we approach the end of the year, we wanted to take the opportunity to look back at the work that our Ekinops team members have done to benefit their local communities, charities and organizations.

Giving back is a core pillar of Ekinops’ values and culture, and we empower our employees to engage in initiatives that make a positive impact on our industry ecosystem and wider society. Some of the key initiatives undertaken by Ekinops employees over the past 12 months include:

Ada Lovelace Challenge

In February this year, the 9th edition of the Ada Lovelace Challenge took place in Lannion, France. The challenge encourages young women to pursue science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers – fields where women are traditionally underrepresented. Having been a partner since 2021, Ekinops is proud to have ambassadors take part who promote diversity in technical science professions.

Ride4Ceylon

From the hills of Kandy to the serene shores of Jaffna, the Ride4Ceylon charity ride took place from 28th February to 2nd March this year. Ride4Ceylon is an annual four-day, 400-km bicycle ride through the beautiful countryside of Sri Lanka to raise funds for the Green Memorial Hospital. Ekinops has sponsored the event since 2019, and this year’s goal was to raise £100,000 to rebuild the region’s Pediatric Unit and Hope Beyond Cancer Unit. Pradeep Gnanasekaram , Business Development Director ANZ at Ekinops, hit the road and captained Group 1 to victory as the fastest team, covering a total of 520 km.

Ronde du Hibou

The Ronde du Hibou is an urban trail crossing the streets and park of the town of Le Plessis-Robinson, France, with all profits from registrations and donations going to the Marie Lannelongue Hospital to improve the daily lives of children hospitalized in cardiopediatrics. This year on 17th March, more than 300 participants lined up at the starting line, including Fabrice Boise , Global Account Manager at Ekinops. Every stride counted, as €12,445 was raised to help children suffering from heart disease.

20 km of Brussels

The 20 km of Brussels is a legendary race that passes through some of the most beautiful monuments and parks in Brussels, Belgium. This year in May, 45,000 participants took part in the 44th edition, including Axel Philips , Business Development Manager at Ekinops. Ekinops sponsored the "Nos Enfants Cardiaques" association, which is dedicated to improving the well-being of children born with heart defects and their families.

Corrida de Lannion

More than 800 runners took part in the second edition of the Corrida de Lannion this year, a foot race held in and around the city of Lannion, France – including team Ekinops! The proceeds from the event went to "L'espoir d'une triplette", a local association supporting the fight against breast cancer.

We are proud of all the great work the Ekinops team has done this year to give back and encourage all employees to get involved and help us in our mission to have a positive impact in our community and beyond.
