The importance of genuine feedback

The message I received in my DMs this morning was truly impactful. It's a clear reminder of the value of sincere feedback and its positive influence. More so when it is from an ex-colleague with no agenda or motive.

I won't mention their names to spare them any embarrassment, but it brought to mind three things I'm thankful for that they've done.

1. Impact. First and foremost, I strive to make a difference in the world; we all aim to create a positive influence at work, whether on the company, customers, the community, or the environment. Unless I've misread the room, no one in our industry gets up just to collect a paycheck!
2. Leadership. Secondly, I have developed expertise in my field through years of dedicated hard work, innovation, and a commitment to excellence, allowing me to reach the top of my profession.
3. Success. Finally, I am achieving my goal of inspiring and supporting the next generation of talent in this industry.

In our hectic professional lives, we might easily miss these aspects, so it's refreshing when they are highlighted to remind us and offer the recognition that fuels us.

While staying true to yourself, I encourage you to give honest feedback to your peers in your network. This brightens their day and motivates them to focus more on the very quality you admire in them.
