Importance of Forged Machining
TRINITY INDIA FORGETECH PVT LTD
Trinity India Forgetech Pvt. Ltd. is the closed die forging company. We believe in Excellence through Perseverance.
Forging is a manufacturing process where the metal is shaped into its final structure by either hitting or pressing it against a die after it is made ductile with the application of heat. Forged machining is an advanced manufacturing process in which the forged metal component is shaped and precised to its specific measurements. The actual application of this process comes after the metal structure has been forged. The product that is formed after the process of forging is a rough shaped structure with various industrial applications. But for some applications where it is important for the forged structure to be of the exact measurements and in accordance with the required shapes and sizes, the machined forging process comes into play. The entire process may be sub divided into two segments.
??Forging: This process is extremely useful for working and industrial metals as it refines its grain size improving its structure and also enables to give the metal a desired shape. The raw material used in this process is ingot. This is subjected to deformation at high temperatures refining is metallurgical structure. The process is ideal to obtain an optimal coalescence of properties for the final product.
Forging as a metallurgical process has various advantages:
·????????It enables a directional flow that improves the impact and mechanical resistance of the product.
·????????In comparison to a welding process, it demonstrates a greater reliability of mechanical properties as this process eliminates the presence of a welded joint.
·????????This process enables one of the best microstructures.
·????????It has the best response to thermal treatment.

·????????Since this process involves hammering at high intensity of pressure, the internal grain structure of the product becomes continuous resulting in minimum porosity.
Forging in itself is an easy manufacturing process which does not involve elaborate cutting or finishing processes. Machining of the forged product is used to give the structure a precise measurement.
??Machining: During this process, the coarse grain structure and properties of the metal are broken down. Through this a better directional strength can be obtained as per requirement. Any porosity or cracks in the product can be removed or sealed.
Forged parts are the strongest amongst any of those produced by other metallurgical processes. Combined with machining, it has various industrial applications and advantages:
·????????Properties of higher strength and reliability of finished products are exhibited by the forged machining process as against the products that are produced by fabrication, casting or welding.
·????????Because of the tight and close grain structure, these parts are able to operate and maintain their performance over a wide range of temperature.
·????????The process is versatile in terms of the wide array of metals that can be used and forged into a desired shape. This enables cheaper production costs.
