The importance of financial independence for women

Money matters for women - it's more than just having a few notes in your purse. It’s more than sliding a few notes out of your husband’s pocket or asking for allowances from your father. For women, being financially independent entails controlling and possessing your own money. It's about having your own bank account, working for yourself, and deciding for yourself how much money to spend, save, and invest. It's about being independent of other people for your needs and desires.

Now, why is this so important?

You may choose what to do when you have your own money. Would you want to purchase the stunning saree you've had your eye on? You don't need to beg anyone to accomplish it. Do you need to assist a family member who is in need? You're able to take charge. However, it goes beyond simple expenditure. Owning money provides you with security.

You feel more confident when you are financially independent. Making and managing your own money has a wonderful effect on your confidence and sense of strength. Both you and other people's perceptions of you are altered by it. You become less financially dependent on others, which improves your relationships. You turn into a role model for younger females, proving to them that money is nothing to be afraid of for women.

Little actions are taken to begin the path towards financial freedom.

Start with a small monthly savings, even if it's only ?100. If you don't already have one, open your own bank account.

Next, get knowledgeable about finances.

Study up on investing, budgeting, and saving. Make yourself some money objectives. Perhaps you'd want to purchase a car or launch a small company. Whatever your objective, having one will spur you to improve your money management and saving skills.

Seek out opportunities to make money. It may be a side gig, a career, or even the sale of handcrafted goods. Understand where your money is going by developing a budget. And begin investing as soon as you're prepared. Study up on equities, mutual funds, and fixed deposits. Learn as you go, starting small.?

My own mother has experienced this firsthand. Her career as a government teacher spans decades. I learned a lot about her career and how she made her own money. Without asking anyone, she could purchase everything she desired. I was particularly struck by that. She even teaches her students the same. Whenever I visit her school, I try to give the little girls at least 30% of what I have learnt about being independent monetarily.?

Now that I run my own company. It wasn't always easy, but I made it work. And let me tell you, it's an amazing feeling to have my own money and the freedom to choose what I want. I would like to know how each and every woman feels about it.

When I originally started my business, there were a lot of challenges to face. But having money gave me the confidence to make decisions regardless of what other people thought.??

Bring up the topic of money management with your family. If you don't already have one, start a savings account. Take into consideration launching a little side venture: perhaps sell handmade snacks or provide tutoring. Every month, try to learn something new about money. Moreover, if you are a parent, instill in your sons and daughters the value of financial independence.

It's not about turning into a crorepati right now. Regardless of how much or little money you have, it's about controlling it. To every woman who reads this: let's help each other become prosperous. Men, please help the women in your life become financially independent.??

I'm a big believer in women helping women. Owning your own finances is a major component of it. It goes beyond simply keeping money in the bank. It's about having the autonomy to choose what you want out of life, feeling good about who you are, and having more opportunities to do so.

Every step you take toward financial freedom matters.?
