Importance of English as International Medium of Communication

English is an international medium of communication that has been use either as a native or second languages that understood and reorganized by everyone . People found that being knowledgeable in English is the key factor for better career, huge advantage in terms of knowledge, status in society and better communication in entire world. It dominates the international media which unite the people around the world together which considered as the essential carrier of language , politics that regulates the law , and in businesses which most of the companies used to compete in global market.

Companies realized that the interaction of people from different background which has been a vital issue in business world, there must be an alternative solution to make everyone speak in a common words. As the economy grew rapidly and people are interconnected as way before, the need of being able to speak in english is increasing. International trading among countries brings people from different culture, values and beliefs together in exchanging of goods and services. It helps to decrease the distance between countries and break the barrier that leads to misunderstanding among them. It also opens the door of opportunities for many aspiring employees who want to work across the globe.

As a filipino living in foreign country for 3 years, I realized how convenient if all of us know how to speak and understand english language. Here's what we thought after getting out to our own country and try to live outside our comfort vicinity. 

One can ONLY appreciate English language in a situation where it is a matter of Survival the fittest (although seems like an exaggeration)
WHY? In my perspective as an international student or let's just say a FILIPINO student. ENGLISH is like our second language. In our country learning English is ingrained in our mind since we set our first foot in a constitution commonly known as school.
We were thought to how to construct a sentence with no grammatical error so if ever we speak in English and it has an error, prepare to be embarrassed.
In my case, English Subject is my most disliked subject. I cant appreciate it in any way I looked at it. I just don't get it. No matter how I earnestly listen to our lecturer it just don't get to my head. I don't know why. I mean, I can understand and speak English, other lessons concerning English ? naah never mind.
So when I got here in Malaysia, of course I don't know the language here so, Speaking english is our only means of communication because it is an international language. This is only where I truly appreciate ENGLISH. I keep telling myself that "wooh, good thing I know how to speak and understand english".
So, in my experience I can deduced that learning or simply knowing how to speak and understand english language is utterly important especially in today's era where everything seems to be speaking english is an nonexchangeable skill one should possess.
For instance, when we were interviewed for this sponsored education. We were questioned in english and we need to answer back in english too. If that time, I didn't know how to speak english I might not have been this blessed to be studying here for free.
Simply knowing this, it really do open doors of opportunities all we need to do is choose which door to open.
Just don't be ashamed if your the way you speak english is crooked at least you can communicate what you want to tell other people.

Nevertheless, it is not all about knowing how to speak in english but how you understand every words using this language. Hence, it is also important to not overlooked and forget to learn and enhance our native language, this wouldn't put those people who doesn't speak English put into disadvantage.
