The Importance of Emotional Intelligence in Finance and Accounting Leaders

Having the right emotional intelligence in any situation is important, more so when you are at work. The dynamics in business can sometimes be difficult to navigate, particularly when you are in leadership roles. Having the right tools to equip yourself can change the way you are perceived and the outcomes of your decisions can greatly impact the business you own or work for. In the Finance and Accounting sector this is seen as a strong skill to have, from speaking with some Managing Directors and Chief Executive Officers recently, they want their Chief Finance Officers and C-Suite leadership team to have strong decision making skills and be able to manage their own emotions. When they are facing pressure and the landscape is changing quickly, they need financial decisions to be well thought out and considered. Having strong Emotional Intelligence means that you aren’t impulsive, are able to influence the emotions of those around you, and make ethical decisions.

With that in mind we are hosting a webinar on the 1st of August where Zoe Williams, Founder of Luminary Mindset and Mark Sheldon, Managing Director of Savant Recruitment? will be discussing this topic in more detail.
