The Importance of Developing the Younger Generation

The Importance of Developing the Younger Generation

The younger generation hold the key to our future. You can support them and their personal development by offering them the time & knowledge they need to maximise their potential. This article will focus on how you can support the younger generation and create a brighter, more sustainable future.

The young people of today, will be the leaders of tomorrow. You may be a leader currently operating at a high level in the workplace. Therefore, it is important that you share your knowledge with them to help them gain the leadership development that they won’t currently have. This is something we aim to do at The HR Booth. We regularly engage with the Career Ready programme to provide younger people with the experience and opportunities they need.

You can find out more about the Career Ready programme here - https://careerready.org.uk/scotland/.

You can help provide the younger generation with the workplace experience they need to thrive in their future careers. Work experience offers many benefits:

-????????????? Employees will gain experience of training others in the workplace.

-????????????? You will feel a sense of satisfaction watching a young person develop & learn in the workplace.

-????????????? It can offer an extra pair of hands to help the business throughout busy periods.

Young people bring enthusiasm, new ideas and a different perspective to the workplace. Not that you don’t! But it is important to find the right balance with personnel in the workplace and hiring younger people can provide that. Furthermore, if you take a chance on a younger employee and put your trust in them, they are likely to repay this with company loyalty over time.

In summary, put your trust in our younger generation and you are benefiting the future for your business.

Agree 100% with the key messages in your article underpinning the importance of "Developing the younger Generation". Having had access to mentors throughout 5 careers shifts and the setting up of 2 businesses, I valued the support available through coaching and mentoring. Helped with clarity of goal setting, building self confidence and investment in skills development. Now retired am giving back as a volunteer mentor engaging with young people I meet through networking activities in the creative arts.? Having engaged in a lifelong hobby in sewing/ tailoring and an interest in Sustainable Fashion, this has opened more networking opportunities to support young people keen to learn sewing skills.?In my opinion a battery of fantastic transferrable skills for life. The Sewing Bee influencing this choice.? A "Freedom to Succeed" in the context of learning and development important for jobs and satisfying careers.
