During my time at TFL with Terry Vincent I gained a deep understanding of the importance of capturing complex service statuses in dashboards. In today's increasingly complex infrastructures, the significance of accurate Service Dashboards is further heightened. My advice is not to focus only on monitoring and alerting of your services, but also to spend time developing service dashboards that can show in a simple way how services are integrated and interact with each other. Such views can provide insightful information about where alerts/issues are, their dependent services, their impact, and their real-time status. Service Dashboards are a fundamental aspect of the "total experience" as they significantly simplify the management and support of services. Their efficiency has a positive impact on end users as it leads to increased focus and attention on services, resulting in greater uptime.
