The importance of culture | Molson Coors case study | World of Learning | Learning Technologies Award nomination
Why culture matters so much
According to organisational consulting firm Korn Ferry, almost two-thirds of executives at the world’s leading organisations attribute 30% of their companies’ market value to one thing: culture.
Great cultures align employees with a shared mission and values, creating a sense of purpose that drives motivation and dedication. When employees feel connected to the company's goals and values, they are more likely to go above and beyond in their work.
But getting culture right is notoriously difficult, and those leaders tasked with ‘owning’ it are often under-supported, creating a disconnect that undermines the many rewards of a great culture…
Case study: How Molson Coors and Voco empowered employees to own their career development
Molson Coors worked with Voco to successfully spearhead a new movement of peer-learning and collaboration across its European operations.
Focused on shifting the narrative from traditional learning interventions which didn’t stick, the Molson Coors talent team wanted to take a different approach to empower their people to take more ownership of their own career development.
Enter Voco! Together we designed a year-long programme to connect Molson Coors employees - often with long tenure and technical roles - to peers from a wide range of organisations in different sectors and countries.
Results were clear, with high engagement and measurable impact: 95% of participants reported feeling clearer about their career directions and more confident and supported at work!

Voco at World of Learning
Last month, the Voco team headed to Birmingham to the UK’s largest celebration of L&D: the World of Learning! As many industry experts, commentators and suppliers gathered together, it was clear that the importance of developing soft - or power - skills was top of the agenda for many attendees.
Voco’s co-founder, Simon Dennett, took to the stage to highlight why human interaction is so crucial to building those vital soft skills, especially in a sector increasingly distracted by AI, and outlined how 1:1 career conversations between peers can boost confidence, solve challenges and refine career thinking.
