I have made the choice early in my professional higher ed career to lead within community college settings because I believe they are the true unsung heroes. I needed a few heroes in my life and see so much of myself in the stories and journeys of many of the students we get to serve. Each year community colleges silently and significantly shape the academic and professional journeys of countless individuals. Individuals who in some cases wouldn't have had an opportunity otherwise.

Community colleges provide a variety of affordable academic programs cutting the cost to degree. Community colleges also serve engines of workforce development, equipping students with practical skills and industry-relevant training to thrive in today's competitive job market. From healthcare and technology to skilled trades and entrepreneurship, community colleges offer specialized programs tailored to meet the evolving demands of various sectors. By collaborating closely with local industries and employers, these institutions ensure that their graduates are well-prepared to enter the workforce with confidence and competence.
