The Importance of Cloud Video in the Workplace

The Importance of Cloud Video in the Workplace

I’ve thought a good bit lately about why I believe in this service so strongly. It comes down to four things that make me so passionate about cloud video and the service that Videxio provides:

  1. Flexiblity | Successful work places need to be flexible to allow the right people to be in the right place to take care of their customers. Whether it is a salesperson, and service provider, and healthcare worker, a legal assistant, or even a teacher, people need to be agile and able to be in the right place at the right time. In doing so, they can suffer from disconnection to their teams. Video allows that intimacy to flourish and keep all concerned stakeholders in the loop, connected, and supported at all times.
  2. Scalability | As teams grow and morph to meet changing needs of customers, collaboration solutions need to be able to change with them. Incremental growth in an affordable subscription ecosystem is akin to adding benefits for a newly hired associate. It is a fixed cost of keeping that associate engaged and a part of the collaborative team. It doesn’t touch capital expenditures, and the need for support is minimal.
  3. Cost | By corralling the cost of collaboration tools in a fixed-cost subscription ecosystem, costs are predictable and lower than purchasing the hardware necessary to provide these services in-house and on premises. If you’ve ever had to purchase the infrastructure necessary to provide a back-end to video, you know that it is an expensive proposition. Procurement alone is expensive, but there is more to consider. Each year, you’re presented with a bill for annual maintenance on that hardware, and it is not inexpensive. You’ll also need to maintain the requisite elements of the infrastructure to insure you have directory, adds/moves/changes, and inevitable failures of hardware. All of these costs taken together represent a substantial downside to having your own infrastructure, and the difference between this and a reliable and redundant cloud solution is pretty meaty.
  4. Finally, here are some things that I love about the Videxio cloud platform.
  • I love that it is 100% cloud and requires ZERO hardware on premises.
  • I love that there are 18 PoPs across the globe that provide incredible connectivity to our MPLS QoS network from anywhere in the world. It’s built for video!
  • I love that it’s a simple pricing structure that doesn’t bait and switch our customers with its of add-ons to get the functionality they need.
  • I love that customers pay a monthly subscription and don’t have to think about updates, maintenance contracts, upkeep, etc.
  • I love that we can provision Cisco, Polycom, and Huawei physical endpoints into our cloud.
  • I love that our dev ops team works tirelessly to add new functionality to the platform in direct response from customers who share what they need.
  • I love that the customer experience is the most important thing to Videxio, and it shows in how we respond to customer needs.
  • Finally, I love that I can talk to a customer about Videxio with 100% confidence that we can deliver what we promise. The magic is in the network, and we have serious network!

So, you can see I’m pretty serious about the importance of cloud video in the workplace. If you’re not, you should be, and I just told you why!
