The importance of belonging
They led me to Naturaw, the rest is history

The importance of belonging

I have just been looking back through some old LinkedIn posts and articles and realised its been quite a time since I made any sort of thoughtful contribution.

So here is my thought for today; belonging is important.

At this time of the year I often reflect on what has gone before, good, bad and ugly; and more importantly, rejoice at what lies ahead. Next month it will be four years since I departed a former corporate life and although that career spanned over 30 years, I have to admit the many years of happy belonging were somewhat overshadowed by a sad and gloomy ending that significantly affected my mental health.

I did not belong anymore; I was a failure and I thought the world had stopped spinning.

What I didn't know at the time was, this was a good thing; a new world was about to start, and that journey is still very much a work in progress and something I want to help others with; although I have written various posts and articles as well as 25,000 words on the topic, I am still not ready to turn that into the book the topic deserves - but I hope to put that right this year with the help of some excellent publishing friends.

Now I do belong; I know because my heart and my head both tell me so; as do our dogs - ?ve and Malm?; four years ago they led me to Naturaw and the rest is history.

The people you choose to work with say a lot about you; we are proud of every member of our staff, you can meet our team here, warehouse workers, food production operatives, pickers and packers; real people doing real work; we offer opportunities for them to grow, they, in turn are rewarded and inspired; we want them all to belong to the wide Naturaw family of dog-crazy humans, customers, stockists and suppliers.

We own a raw dog food business in Yorkshire; a highly sustainable business; a truthful business; a business that makes stuff; a growing business, a business that has real values that mean something; a business where everyone belongs.

Join the Rawvolution.

Belong.
