It is important to remember that lean is a choice. Nobody can make lean happen. It is what you make of it. You can stay stagnant and keep doing things the way that they have always been done, or you can seek to continuously improve.
The most important part of lean is the people. Lean is not just about reducing waste and improving flow, but empowering the people by listening to the people and seeking to understand the people. You can't build an adaptable organization without adaptable people, and individuals change only when they have to or when they want to.
Lean is a terminology that is well known across industries. The central concept of lean is the effective utilization of resources and time to achieve higher quality products and ensure customer satisfaction. We are trying to eliminate waste by continually improving using lean tools to satisfy the customer.
I want to be clear. I'm not pushing lean on you. When you finish watching this course, I can't make you do lean. It's a choice. It's a commitment you make, and it has to be viewed that way.
Because when you kick off your organization's lean pilot project, you will leave that conference room or that all-hands meeting, and your team members will need to make that choice for themselves.
