Implementing Leadership Principles…
…is one of the most difficult things to do! Because of the great effort that is needed we usually advice our customers not to do it…
… unless they are sure that they have the endurance and are willing to act consistently to what they put out there.
We are just happen to be part of one of the rare examples who seem to make it. And here is how they do it:
+ The top management supports and drives the Leadership Principles since two years on a day to day bases (it is part of the strategy; they make time for it (virtually) in every workshop; it has equal importance to other urgent topics like restructuring).
+ They explain, give examples (on an operational level) and discuss challenges
+ Every leader is invited to rate him- or herself
+ Every leader receives feedback from their employees
+ The Leadership Principles are linked to the target agreements
+ Every leader is invited and supported on working on his or her capabilities
+ There is also a follower part in the Leadership Principles to foster dialogue
+ They installed a “leadership test bench” for every leader (including top management) after two years (using various data)
+ They act consistently to the results
+ They say: We will probably need another two years to be where we want to be!
